Artisan Bowl
A vibrant celebration of color, movement, and the unpredictable beauty of handcrafted pottery.

Created by Long Island artist Jan Barrett, this striking ceramic bowl immediately draws the eye with its dramatic combination of flowing colors and organic patterns.

The interior features a beautiful explosion of turquoise and ocean blues, creamy yellows, deep black, soft burgundy, violet, and earthy accents. The glazes appear to radiate outward from the center, creating a lively, almost abstract floral or sunburst effect. Each color flows naturally into the next, giving the bowl wonderful depth, energy, and movement.

A warm, darker rim frames the colorful interior and provides a rich contrast to the brighter glazes. The gently curved, shallow profile gives the piece an elegant form while allowing the intricate glaze work to remain the star of the design.

One of the most fascinating qualities of handmade ceramics is the way glazes react and transform during kiln firing. The subtle blending, variations, and unexpected interactions of color help give this bowl a personality entirely its own. The result cannot be duplicated exactly, making this a true one-of-a-kind creation.

Beautiful enough to stand alone as a work of art, this bowl would make a wonderful table centerpiece, decorative display piece, serving piece, or distinctive accent for the home. Its combination of contemporary color and traditional ceramic craftsmanship allows it to complement a wide variety of decorating styles.
